I watched the documentary film Exit Through the Gift Shop over the weekend. This is a must-see film for all artists, as well as an engrossing and outlandish true story that will mesmerize you from start to finish.

After seeing the film I ran to my computer to look at photos I shot in New York City in 2008. I knew that I had taken some pictures of street art on Houston, and was certain that the artists included Keith Haring and Shepard Fairey. An image of Alfred Hitchcock wearing sunglasses holding a sign that says “Life is Beautiful” stuck in my mind, flashing across the screen for just a second in the film. And lo and behold, in my archive I found images by Mister Brainwash, the accidental star of Exit Through the Gift Shop. It looks like I too was brainwashed!
